Truffle Season began a few weeks ago and for those interested in trying this gourmet ingredient there are a few options available within the Qatar Dining Scene.
Expect dishes using truffles to be high prices as these mushrooms are sourced only from the mountainous region of Italy through resource intensive foraging techniques. Unlike other mushroom varieties these ‘diamonds in the kitchen’ are difficult to grow and farm, whilst experts warn that demand outstrips supply.
If you are looking for a special treat then keep an eye out for menus offering the more highly prized White Truffle with its white marbling and strong aroma.
