The latest opening in Doha is the world’s first LaLiga Lounge – a unique collaboration with Katara Hospitality and LaLiga, the Spanish Football League.

UPDATE: There will be a ‘Fun With LaLiga’ Festival in Hotel Park from 28th September until 7th October 2017. Featuring freestyle football shows, and football competitions, and of course dining options. Free Entry. (Details correct as of 11th Sept).

Conceptualised as a sports lounge, it offers a place for football fans to hang out and watch matches on large TV screens while enjoying a drink or bite to eat.

LaLiga Lounge Doha

The LaLiga menu features a range of Mediterranean cuisine and highlights Spanish and Arabic dishes. The man behind the menu, Chef Juan Sobero, has been cooking for 14 years with vast experience in Valencia, Spain.

He has had training at the Alejandro del Toro, a one star Michelin restaurant, and later moved to the Basque restaurant Leixuri. He has also worked with world renowned Spanish Chef José Andrés at his Mexico City location, J restaurant by Jose Andres.

As LaLiga’s Chef de Cuisine he has brought his own twist to the menu, with the difficult job of mixing Spanish and Middle Eastern food cultures. The menu reads like a modern interweaving of Spanish and Arabic flavours with tapas, mezze, salads, beef and chicken dishes.

Diners can enjoy a variety of mains including Chicken Kabsa with saffron, Roast Chicken Salad, Paella Negra with black squid, and  Braised Seabass with fresh herbs.

More seafood dishes, and other proteins, are available from the grill such as Gulf Prawns, Lamb Kebab, Ribeye, and Shish Tawouk. Main courses cooked in the oven include Meatballs, Roast Chicken and Spanish Stew.

There are also a range of desserts and drinks to bring the relaxation element to the lounge. There are enough Arabic and European options to keep all diners happy with Chocolate Fondant, Halva and Tahini Brownies, and Vanilla Creme Catalan.

There is also a Little Liga menu for children which includes corndog, hamburger, and chicken fingers. Dessert options feature the trending skillet cookie and freakshake.

 

LaLiga Lounge Doha is located in Hotel Park, next to the Sheraton Grand Doha, and has its own parking. It is open daily from 7:00pm until 11:00pm. There will be no alcohol served in the Lounge.
