The management at St Regis have designed two luxury Ramadan Tents this year with the main Ramadan Souq Tent providing both Iftar and Suhoor Buffets, with exclusive Cabanas designed for privacy. Whilst the Al Gassar Majlis Ramadan Tent has been designed for a chilled out companionable Suhoor with a small bites concept.

The Ramadan Tent is a bright venue with a different ambience to the usual fabric-swathed Ramadan Tents and has a well-designed concept. St Regis envisaged it as a traditional Arabic Souq complete with vendors and heritage-style bird houses. It has been set in the Grand Ballroom which has allowed St Regis to design the Tent with Buffet Stations located throughout the venue. There are four ‘market stalls’ offering a wide variety of food covering both Arabic and Continental cusine. These stalls are housed within tradition-style Qatari houses and highlight trades such as the fishmonger and the butcher with offerings of Stuffed Pigeon, Roast Duck and Baked Salmon Puff. The standout dish was a Full English Roast complete with Yorkshire Pudding and Gravy!
Between these vendors you can find the cold mezze and starters including local delicacies such as Warak Enab and Fattayer. There is also a Soup Station, Sushi Display, and the rest of the Mains including Beef Medallions. The most difficult thing to do is choose your meal as you wander from one corner of the amply stocked buffet to the other. Each dish has been dressed to appeal and the appetising smells may cause you to double-back for second helpings – saving room for dessert could be tricky in this setting!
Pride of place in the center of the Ramadan Souq are two Bird Houses around which you can find the extensive Desserts Buffet which also has a Crepe Station, Ice Cream Station, a tall Fruit Display and two Chocolate Fountains. Horse figures ‘guard’ woven basketwares holding dried fruits and dates, whilst there are plenty of traditional Arabic desserts on offer including Kunafa and Baklava.
The Continental Desserts Display is impressive and it is difficult to choose from the delicious-looking Layered Cakes, Mousses and Fruit Tarts. Make sure to have some glorious Sticky Toffee Pudding which requires double portions to fully appreciate its sweet goodness!
St. Regis, West Bay
St. Regis is doubling the excitement this year with two Ramadan tents!
Following the 2014 QTA award for “The Finest Ramadan Tent in Qatar”, the lavish Ramadan Souq Tent will return to the St. Regis Grand Ballroom, with delicious dishes inspired by the Middle East and Qatari traditions and live entertainment. It will be feature models representing traditional Qatari houses and heritage, elegant lighting, table decoration and private cabanas that are sophisticatedly decorated to spread the Ramadan feeling into the room.
Iftar: sunset until 7.30pm; priced at QR230 per person.
Suhoor: from 9.30pm until 2am; priced at QR290 per person.
You can also enjoy private cabanas for up to 10 guests with 2,000QR extra fee.
