Doha’s newest hotel, The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, officially opened its doors today in downtown Doha. It is located in Bin Mahmoud and has a capacity of 365 rooms. It is the fourth property opened by Starwood Hotels & Resorts –  other properties within the region are the popular Sheraton Doha, W Doha and The St. Regis.

The Westin Doha has been emphasised as a wellness haven – a serene escape from the city – despite its central location. This is thanks to the addition of the Heavenly Spa, the hotel oasis garden, and the pool. There is also rejuvenation theme across the board as the decor is warm and muted, whilst rooms feature Westin’s trademarked bed technology.

Westin Doha – The Restaurants

The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa will feature six F&B outlets, of which four are open at the moment. There is a focus on healthy dining with nutritious SuperFoodsRx™ options. The venues currently open to guests and diners are Seasonal Tastes, Luxe Lounge, Mix Bar Lounge & Terrace, and the Waves Pool Cafe. Hunters Room & Grill, and Sabai Thai are expected to open in March, when diners can also expect the launch of the popular ‘Bubbalicious’ brunch to Doha for the first time, an entertaining, interactive experience that provides the opportunity for friends and family to spend quality time together.

It will be interesting to see whether Westin Doha’s dining restaurants will be able to make a name for themselves amongst Doha’s crowded dining scene. What is applaudable is the focus on organic and healthy ingredients which is recognition of the increasing demand for healthier options by diners. And it will be exciting to discover the tastes and flavours of Sabai Thai, which will be a welcome addition to the Thai restaurant dining options!
