St Regis Doha, Al Gassar Majlis – Sneak Peek! Ramadan Tents 2015

It’s time for another sneak peek at a Ramadan Tent as part of our Ramadan in Doha feature – we are really spoiling you this Ramadan! And so is the St Regis who are offering their guests TWO Ramadan Tent experiences this year!

Both have their own unique theme and concept. There is the main Ramadan Souq Tent which has been set up in the St Regis Grand Ballroom and is stylised after Doha’s famous Souq Waqif with elements of Katara thrown in. It is available for both Iftar and Suhoor – find our review of the St Regis Ramadan Souq Tent 2015.

The St. Regis Ramadan Tent 2015

The second Ramadan Tent is the Al Gassar Majlis located in the Al Gassar Ballroom. It was going to be a ladies-only majlis but, as we announced earlier in the week, the Majlis has opened up to  the men due to popular demand. The Al Gassar Ramadan Tent is only available for Suhoor and will be open to both men and women. The design of the Ramadan Tent has also been changed in order to appeal to both genders – so there are a little less frills than originally planned, as the decor has been tamed to appeal to both genders.

Walking through the lobby of the Al Gassar Ballroom you catch shades of pink and swathes of fabric – it all provides you with a hint of what to expect as you walk towards the welcoming entrance. The decor within provides a calming feel thanks to the thick soft carpets and elegantly designed ceiling. Seating is provided for both large and small groups with special VIP private booths which can be reserved in advance.

Guests to the Al Gassar Ramadan Tent can expect to be served small hot plates of food at their table and Ramadan beverages, whilst there is a central buffet of sweet treats. There were some delicious-looking displays of fruit, dates and mini cakes, including profiteroles, almond financiers, and lemon meringue tarts. They also had lots of ice-cream flavours, baklava and an amazingly tempting sticky toffee pudding!
