Lord of The Wings and Biella – New Openings

April seems to be THE month for new openings at The Pearl-Qatar, with a double whammy as the fourth Biella restaurant in Doha and new offering Lord Of The Wings officially opened. The restaurants shared a grand opening night earlier this month, where dignitaries, special guests and the local biker chapter were invited to learn more about the venues and their menus.

Lord Of The Wings is the newcomer to Doha, but has branches around the world. The name suggests that the main focus is on chicken wings, but the menu showcases Casual American cuisine and includes burgers, flatbreads, sandwiches and salads (including a quinoa salad).

Appetisers also include Nacho Chips, and five types of fries including curly and poutine fries. Customers also have the option of building their own burger with varied options including dill pickles, avocado, coleslaw, guacamole and caramelised onion.

There are four types of wings – traditional, grilled, breaded and boneless – which can be covered in a your choice of sauce from the Sauceology Index. The range of 16 sauces covers different levels of spice and includes Honey Mustard, BBQ Honey, Citrus Pepper and the hot Buffalo Suicide. Wings are available in different portion sizes (8 wings are priced at QR39; 16 wings at QR72; and 24 wings at QR102). Customers can also enjoy all-you-can-eat wings with sauces for a set menu price.

Lord Of The Wings is also introducing a ‘Hot Wings’ Challenge which the very brave (or foolhardy!). You have to be over 18 and also sign a waiver. The rules are simple – no gloves, no napkins and no drinks to eat 8 fiery hot wings in less than two minutes. If you manage to achieve this feat you are added to their Wall of Flame.

Biella is a popular In-Mall eatery that has finally opened its first stand-alone restaurant. Showcasing Italian cuisine the restaurant offers a wide range of dishes including pizza, calzone, antipasti, soup and paninis. For mains they offer a variety of proteins including Osso Bucco, Beef Rib Eye and Grilled Salmon. Desserts offer Italian favourites of tiramisu, panna cotta and cannoli.
