QIFF2018 Cooking Classes with the World’s Best Chefs! 

QIFF 2018: Registration is now open for live Cooking Classes with master Chefs!

Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) is set to kick off this Thursday 15th March, and festival organisers have announced registration is now open for foodies looking to learn from the world’s best chefs which includes US Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.

For the 9th edition of QIFF, three of Doha’s five-star restaurants are offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to join internationally-acclaimed chefs for an interactive cooking and tasting experience through six QIFF Cooking Classes held by the following chefs:

Sara Al Kuwari, QIFF Project Manager at QTA commented saying, “QIFF’s Cooking Classes are one of the festival’s new concepts that take the gastronomic celebrations beyond the grounds of Hotel Park, with international chefs offering residents and visitors an opportunity to savour exclusive live cooking and dining experiences.”

Executive Chef Damien Leroux, IDAM

Damien Leroux has been Executive Chef at IDAM since October 2016, and will be one of the first chefs to share his skills. His Mediterranean fusion style dishes are a celebration of ingredients that are locally sourced in Qatar.

 

His QIFF cooking class is set to be held on Friday 16th March between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm at the IDAM restaurant on the 5th floor of the Museum of Islamic Art. The class is priced at QAR 500 per person. For more details and to make a reservation you may call +974 4422 4488.

Chef Leroux will also be at the QIFF Live Cooking Theatre at Hotel Park and is scheduled to cook on the following dates:

Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Mondrian Hotel Doha

Chef Masaharu Morimoto will teach the art of sushi on Saturday 17th March between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. The cooking class will be held at Morimoto Doha, his first Middle East Japanese restaurant at the Mondrian Hotel. The class is priced at QAR 650 per person and includes a four-course lunch. Chef Morimoto will also take to the QIFF Live Cooking Theatre at Hotel Park on Friday 16th March at 6.00pm, when it is rumoured that he will showcase tuna carving, and share his secrets about sashimi.

Pastry Chef Anna Olson

Canada’s baking sensation Anna Olson will be leading three cooking classes at a leading hotel on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of March. Classes are free and seats will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis. Those after this exclusive experience should look out for upcoming announcements on social media platforms.

Olson will also be at the QIFF Live Cooking Theatre at Hotel Park on Thursday 22nd March at 10.00pm and on Friday 23rd March at 7.20pm & 9.00pm.

Chef Wolfgang Puck, Mondrian Hotel

Internationally acclaimed Chef Wolfgang Puck is scheduled to cook his unique fine dining dishes at his restaurant, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, located at Mondrian Hotel. The class is scheduled to take place on Friday 16th Macrh; tickets are priced at QAR 950 per person. For more details and to make a reservation you may call +974 4045 5999.
