Nozomi Doha – New Opening

Marsa Malaz Kempinski has officially opened the doors of Nozomi Doha, Qatar’s latest culinary hotspot. Nozomi is an award-winning modern Japanese restaurant with successful franchises in London and Riyadh; most recently Nozomi Riyadh was voted Best Luxury Restaurant in KSA at the 2015 Luxury Lifestyle Awards.

Originally launched in London in 2005 by renowned restauranteur Marios George, Nozomi offers highly acclaimed contemporary Japanese cuisine paired with French and Italian flavours. [Check out our Nozomi Doha – What to Expect post].

Expect a unique modern dining experience based upon a fusion concept of providing high quality entertainment within a fine dining environment. Brand Ambassador, Marios George, discussed the concept behind Nozomi Doha proudly as ‘a much awaited addition to the increasingly elevating lifestyle experiences available in Qatar…Our exclusive music collections have been curated from sounds from all over the world, mixed with both modern and regional tones – it is something not yet seen in the local hospitality scene.’

It is located in the gardens of the Kempinski, where you can also find world-renowned Italian restaurant Antica Pesa, and Richard Sandoval’s Latin American concept Toro Toro. (You can check out Qatar Eating’s thorough review of Kempinski’s Latin American Restaurant Toro Toro Doha).

Nozomi Doha – Marsa Malaz Kempiski The Pearl – Qatar

Designed in a clean contemporary-style the dining room showcases some playful lighting and design elements. Although it is a fine dining restaurant it has a relaxed atmosphere, with an upstairs lounge and outdoor seating. Guests can enjoy the spectacular views over The Pearl – Qatar and the blue waters of the Arabian Gulf.

Qatar Eating was invited to sample the culinary creations of Nozomi Doha’s Japanese Chef and Sushi Master Takeumi Hiraoka. With 15 years experience in Japanese culinary arts Chef Takeumi has also worked as a Sushi Master Chef for the past 10 years. His background in Asian fusion and French cusine has uniquely influenced his cooking style, and provides a perfect fit for Nozomi’s interpretation of modern Japanese cuisine with European sensibilities.

Nozomi Doha has a bespoke menu created for the Arabian region with around 30% of the menu designed to cater for local tastes, and also offers signature Nozomi favourites of Black Cod, Kobe Beef (heart emoji!) and lobster tempura. For all you sushi-loving Dohaites out there keep an eye out for our upcoming Menu Review!

For the moment we are going to tease you with some of the evening’s highlights…from the the sushi to the desserts – no suprise to anyone, but the succulent Kobe Beef ranks highly!
