QIFF 2016 to introduce new family attractions

The 7th Qatar International Food Festival, organized by Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways, promises to be the largest and most exciting yet thanks to unique contributions from a host of strategic partners and sponsors including The Pearl-Qatar, Katara Cultural Village, and Qatar Museums.

In 2016 QIFF has grown to span new satellite venues in The Pearl-Qatar and Katara Cultural Village, alongside the main venue in MIA Park. All three locations will offer tantalizing and creative culinary experiences, providing fun and food for all ages and taste buds.

Katara Hospitality, the global hotel owner, developer and operator based in Qatar, is activating a contemporary initiative designed to highlight the evolution of the organisation’s food and beverage concepts. As the official Hospitality Partner of the 2016 Qatar International Food Festival, Katara Hospitality aims to raise brand awareness through its culinary offerings.

In April, Katara Hospitality will bring the flavours of Qatari cuisine to all of its local and international hotels by introducing Katara Specialties. Katara Hospitality will also host its first Qatar Restaurant Week towards the end of 2016, a culinary initiative offering food enthusiasts unique dining experiences at affordable unified prices. This seems to be inspired by the latest foodie offerings during Dubai Food Festival, which recently inaugurated their first ever Restaurant Week – where 30 of Dubai’s well-known restaurants offered an affordbale menu at AED 189.

QIFF 2016 – New Family Entertainment

QIFF 2016’s official Festivity Partners include Ooredoo, Baraem TV, and Doha Film Institute (DFI), who will screen two popular family films as part of QIFF 2016 activities planned at the satellite venue in Qanat Quartier at the Pearl-Qatar. DFI CEO Fatma Al Remaihi sees QIFF as an opportunity to “provide complete entertainment for the entire family.”

Acclaimed animation films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Ponyo will be screened throughout the Festival at 07:30pm at the Qanat Quartier Beach Pop-Up that will entertain every member of the family and further enhance their creative experience at the culinary and cultural event. Showings have limited capacity and are on a first-come-first-served basis.
